How does having an LOA affect the nom. process?

I can only speak for the congressional board I sit upon.
It would have almost no impact on us. We are interviewing YOU, not the LOA. To win that nomination, you must convince US that you are the BEST choice we have, or at least one of the top 10 that we're going to nominate.
As for which SA its for; again, I personally don't care. I will MOST DEFINITELY ask you if that's the FIRST choice for you and if not, why not. However...you will have to tell ME what you want, and why, and again why you're the best choice.
So congrats on the LOA!!! That's awesome!
But do NOT rest on it...there's still a LOT to be done to solidify things!!!

How the heck did you get an LOA already? I didn't think the very first one was sent till, maybe at the very earliest, early September. But congrats anyway, Good Luck on your noms.

It affected my son, as soon as his LOA from USAFA arrived, the Congressman called and said there was no need to show up for an interview (it was scheduled in a few days), he would be getting one of his Noms. Another boy from the same HS got the same call after his USAFA LOA arrived.
