How is CGA harder to get into than the other SA's?

Pls don't fill your name in.

Awww, you try so HARD. It's kind of "precious". Honest truth, if you make it to an academy, I think you're going to have some issues. You're screaming "lightning rod". We had names for those kinds of classmates.

If and when I get off the bus and walk through the arch of Chase hall, I shall take the challenge of swab summer to heart and do my utmost best. Your negative comments or put downs is irrelevant. I have come to seek counsel and in turn you have harassed and encouraged others to avoid the purpose of this forum. Cyber bullying shouldn't be tolerated. My experience with your school has been very positive and I can only hope that your views provide the realistic balance of what I've experienced while I spent time in your school versus the negativity and dire predictions you keep harping about.
I have a white leather folder that holds an appointment given to me by your school. I guarantee you that come April 1, it won't be up to you or anyone to influence where I go. Once I take the oath, there's no turning back. I savor doing what naysayers like you say I can't. Semper Paratus.

It's already past April 1st, and your cadre are certainly going to have a huge influence on whether you stay or go when you get off that bus. Plenty of swabs left over the course of last summer when my class was cadre. Then after that you'll have a whole year of being closely monitored by the upper class, and classmates who will either support you or not support you.

Plenty of people receive appointments, fewer receive commissions.

Rest assured it wont be me. My resolve is undeterred. many have gone through it including you, why can't I? July 1st, look for me-I'll be up to the challenge.
In the meantime, it's back to what's left of senior year and having fun. Swab summer will have to wait.YOLO:cool:

Sam, ever have a kid come in who's so sure he walks on air, only to find out his classmates don't like him, he's all about himself and he isn't a shipmate?

Yeah, me too. Tends to be rough on them. Of course, I don't remember many of them graduating.

These NOISE canceling earphones are outstanding.
Wish they had a similar device for jetsam.

Well, this thread has certainly taken an interesting turn...

It seems any thread with iceman on it takes an interesting turn, unfortunately.

 Ha! No way this kid got into an academy. Just a troll. Reminds me of someone who passed through here a year ago.

You may be right. And for someone who states they don't like to brag he sure seems to do a fair amount of that here. If he did get accepted I'm sure his head will be quickly reshaped or he will be gone.

Gee what a surprise.
LITS,
Would last year's version be the rock band kid who wanted to bring his lizard?

Iceman,
I have to ask, do the initials ACST mean anything to you? Are you an Oriole?
I have a DS at KP

To put a stop to your bullying, ask me anything only an appointee would know.
If I respond correctly, all I ask is you regain your self-respect and just stop harassing people who use this forum.
I harbor no ill will but you've wasted too much time with none sense and it has nothing to do with the reason this forum exists.

To all new swabs, plebs, midshipmen, etc: One of the most important things to remember during swab summer, is to "fly under the radar". Don't draw attention to yourself. You are now a part of a bigger, better "picture". And also... one might think about applying this suggestion to these forums too.

We've had a few of those, but they're pretty much gone. Like you've said before, no one makes it through this place alone.

You need to check that attitude at the door then if you expect to make it through. Any wiff of attitude and you're cadre are going to be putting extra pressure on you.

And I'm sure that T&F will be looking for you if you come here, as she's in a swab summer leadership position

Not worth my time kid.

To all of the good applicants out there though, read through this thread, check out the kind of things Iceman2018 has said, the way he has carried himself and how he has talked to other forum members. Once you've read through that, here's what you should know: People with Iceman2018's attitude, the "I'm most important" disposition.... they typically won't make it through West Point, Annapolis, Air Force, Coast Guard or Kings Point. They spend their first few months alienating their classmates. Their classmates get annoyed, begin to hate them, and eventually ignore them. Once they've burned every bridge with their classmates, they fail as cadets/midshipmen and they leave.

You make it through an academy as a class, working together. You help out your classmates and they help you. You form lasting relationships that endure.

Some people can't figure that out. Some times you can even see it before they walk through the front gates. The thing you can bet on... they'll leave through those same gates LONG before their classmates. And when they get home they'll come up with some excuse "my CAP detachment would put your drill and military discipline to shame." They'll come up with something to help them accept they couldn't do what others did. They'll come up with something so they don't have to admit they were too much of individuals to be part of a unit.

And in the end, the branch of service and the nation as a whole wins, because only the best will make it through, and they'll do so as a team.

I don't tolerate bullies and people that are ahead of you that are elitist and want to put you down because they think they're better than you. I may be young but just because you're older doesn't mean that you can harangue and ridicule anyone that doesn't agree with your viewpoint. I know a lot of veterans and have come into contact with active military and academy officers that do not belittle any question asked of them. You have always been condescending and arrogant which may be your style of leadership but I'm not your subordinate. I have fielded open questions to anyone willing to respond and they have. You repeatedly interrupt and derail any dialogue regarding pertinent issues. You resort to cheap shots and character assassination. I am merely a candidate that came to this forum with questions that you call "bore-ass". It would be the best thing to do to just ignore your lies and assumptions. You don't know me. I could care less what an excuse of an ex-officer you are. you are not nice and I don't ask anything more than for you to just please stop or stick to what's relevant and constructive rather than the poison of negativity that permeates your persona.
None of your libelous statements and dire predictions will affect where I go or what I do with my future. Short of posting a scanned copy of what you state I don't have, stop making a fool of yourself and just let this thread die. You've wasted too much time and it just detracts from the noble purpose of this forum that have provided help to countless young men and women including myself.

One would question what your desires truly are if they posted some of your PMs to members of this forum. I'm sure they won't do that.

Here's what you have done. You called a current cadet/future cadre "pathetic." You called a current 1/c cadet a "BFD" and called him stupid. You've attacked retired members of the Air Force and Marine Corps. You've had some choice things to say to active duty members of the Army. You've had some interesting things to say to parents. And ALL of that is only on a few of the forums here.

If we go back and check out what you've said to other applicants, we can tell a few things. You take advice for granted. You have little respect for current cadets, active duty officers, veterans, retired officers/enlisted and parents.

People here have wasted time on you. I would recommend you not attend the Coast Guard Academy, but from what I've read from others, you're not planning to anyway.

You have an attitude problem that every cadet here has seen from problem swabs who often don't make it.

You can dig your hole deeper, but I'm not sure how much more you could possibly alienate folks on SAF. And the weirdest thing here is.... you're attacking the very people who WOULD be trained by. Future cadre are here. People who know Dr. Collela. Admissions staff are here ALL THE TIME. Not wise at all, in my opinion.

What SHOULD you do? Readjust the attitude, or start planning an excuse for when you don't make it as a cadet. Right now, from what I've seen, I wouldn't bet on you. Maybe you can do it academically, but if you show ANYTHING to cadets or midshipman that you've shown here... well buddy, it's going to be a very long road for you.

My parents raised me well and I have respect for authority. If you selectively cut and quote fragments of threads, you can make it appear however you like it to because it's taken out of context. You are worse than a simple playground bully. You manipulate segments of threads to nitpick and support your assumptions. I don't take you for a numbskull but you're acting like one and it's just adding insult to injury by showing how petty and superficial you are. You are supposed to help not degrade. You are supposed to guide not belittle and ridicule. You are supposed to be an ex-officer not a cyberbully hiding behind the keyboard. This forum have helped thousands of aspiring young men and women on their way to genuinely serve their country. If you don't have anything to contribute, please step aside.
