How many people here are going to take the R-Day travel package?

I'm talking about the one that flies you into newark and buses you from your hotel to West Point

I am! But I'm flying to Philly first where i have some family, then driving up the day before R-Day and staying overnight in the hotel that the package provides.

Are you bringing family or flying out alone? I've heard a lot of people go alone because we won't really get to see our families once we arrive.

Once you have the 90-second good-bye, you do not see your family again. However, parents have the opportunity to possibly see you during the Oath Ceremony at the end of the day. I was lucky enough to have a great view of my cadet and it meant a lot, although I know other parents weren't as lucky. If you have family that has never visited West Point, there are lots of activitites during the day and it's a great time to look around. Some parents caught glimpses of their new cadets during the day as they made their way around to the various in-processing stations. There is nothing like that on A-Day since the emphasis is on reuniting with family and relaxing.

Does this package include the hotel and such? Cause I got an email from the airport a few weeks ago they already have my tickets plan out. Getting closer, the gf is going to go berserk.

I got my confirmation for the package (flight to Newark and hotel)
the other day. :thumb:

And I am going alone, for the appointee who was wondering about
others. The 90 second goodbye did not seem worth the 2 plane tickets
for my parents to fly out there.

Definitely wasn't expecting to have to pay for the hotel

You will be reimbursed for a portion of it, possibly all of it. My cadet was partially reimbursed for the night before R-Day at our hotel in Fishkill. Save your receipts!

I guess it's too late, I already put that I didn't want it. Oh well

When you select for the package it says to send in $150. Does this cover the price for the plane ticket and the hotel? I have received the plane ticket schedule but i haven't payed yet

For parents who can do both Rday and Aday, there's soo much more to Rday than the 90 sec goodbye...we did tours, made friends w/ people we will be lifetime friends with, played "where's Waldo," and bought all things West Point. You don't want to waste Aday shopping and your cadet doesn't want to tour. If you can do both, do.

i'm not sure if the $158 covers the plane ticket as well as the hotel/busing to West Point. I think it depends on if you asked for a government paid ticket or not; i did, and they already booked my flights going to Newark

Hey my flight has been confirmed but has it been paid for already? I meant to call them but just figured this would be less bothering and could possibly help someone else out at the same time.
