Hello, all. I am considering applying to some of the military academies. I was wondering, though. Would I still have to pay room and board? Would a ROTC scholarship cover all of my tuition expenses.
thank you for all of your answers

You might want to look at post #15 (plus a few more as it is broken into several posts) to see the list of AROTC schools with extra help including room and/or board added to the scholarship.

Thats going to depend on a lot of things. Most importantly where you go to school and which ROTC youre in. As an out of state student at VT it cost a little over 13K/smester (that includes tuition/fees/room&board/meals). AFROTC covers 9K/semester with some extra spending money. So obviously im still paying out of pocket

tuition and scholarships at SMC's

My son is from GA and is a Keydet at VMI. He is on the Army 4 year scholarship. It covers most of the 38,000.00 a year tuition and Room and board. He isn't getting any finacial aid, but VMI has various scholarships you might be entitled to depending on your choice of majors. My son is a CHEM major, so he got about 2000.00 a semester this year and last. He took a student loan for about 3,500.00 for the whole year.

Not sure if this helps for your situation.
