In July I received a letter from the academy stating that due to my low SAT scores ( Math- 510, Verbal- 530, Writing-550) I was not going to be considered an official candidate at the time. During the summer I took a number of SAT prep courses to prepare for the Oct. SAT. I find out my scores on Thursday. If my scores improve how do apply to become an official candidate? Do I mail my scores and high school transcript to USNA to be reevaluated?

Well, you certainly need to send the scores to USNA. Don't know about the transcript although that would be required if you do become an official candidate. You're best bet for ascertaining the details is to call admissions. I would add that you should also check with your MOCs offices to see if their deadline for nomination applications has passed. I'm sure it is at least approaching very quickly.

I just sent an email to USNA. I was told by USNA in the summer that I was able to apply for my Congressional and Senator nominations even though I am not yet an official candidate. I am unable to apply for the Presidential Nomination because that requires a candidate number.

Good. Glad to hear you're on top of that. You have until Jan 31 for the Presidential so that should be plenty of time. :thumb:
