I have applied to Army, Navy and Air Force Academies and ROTC Scholarships.
Hypothetical Situation: I receive a scholarship from the 1st Army ROTC board October 25th (projected date based on last year). So, hypothetically, I would have to accept or deny the scholarship by November 25th.
How would I deal with this situation, knowing that most appointments to the academies are made in February and the status of my other ROTC application will not be determined until late December?

    Simple, accept the scholarship.

You would just hold onto the scholarship until you hear yes/no from the SA's you have applied. If you get an appointment and decide to attend one of the SA's then you simply decline the scholarship at that time.

While accepting the scholarship binds you to the school and battalion, it does not require you to attend. If you decide to accept a SA appointment there is no penalty for declining the scholarship even though you had accepted the scholarship within the first 30 days.

I hope that wasn't too confusing, if so just refer to the first sentence.

Bottom line, if you receive a scholarship, accept it, the rest will work itself out.

Yes, accept scholarships as they are offered, you will get another letter before the start of school (from Cadet Command in the case of a AROTC scholarship), asking if you still intend to utilize the scholarship.

Sorry to tag in on someone else's thread, but does that also apply with different ROTC scholarships? (i.e. can you accept both an AROTC and NROTC scholarship?) Thanks!
