This past Friday I received a letter from the Naval Academy saying that I am scholastically qualified. This is a huge step in the process and now I just need to get medically and physically cleared, along with my nomination. So, now that I know that my grades and ECA's are what the Academy is looking for, should I contact my Senators and Congressman saying that I just got scholastically qualified?

You might call them to see if you can provide a copy of the scholasticallly qualified letter for your packet.

Many of the MOCs have boards, and they have been doing this for eons, especially like Byrd (I think he was in before there was an AFA). The board is really going to be looking at your scholastic stats., they do not need a letter, they will see it. Remember that letter will not get you the nom, the resume will, and a large part is your stats.

Can you send it, of course you can, will it make a difference? Doubtful.

I would spend more time and energy getting medically qualified and passing the CFA, have you taken your Dodmerb, your CFA?

Yes I am medically rejected but am calling DODMERB tommorrow to notify them that I am competitive for an appointment so they can look at my records. I took my CFA back in June, but I figured they aren't going to tell me I am physically qualified unless I am medically qualified as well. My scores were:

Basketball Throw: 69 ft
Shuttle Run: 8.8 seconds
Pull Ups: 16
Push Ups: 101
Sit Ups: 93
1 mile run: 6:31

DODMERB doesn't care about your scholastic competitiveness for an appointment, as they don't issue the USNA medical waiver.

Your call would be to the admissions office of the USNA, but they already know you are competitive for an appointment.

Waiver consideration is automatic for those deemed competitive.

Hi Hopeful MDN i was wondering what kind of academic stats you got since you are "scholasticly qualified?"
