I cant visit USMMA?

Yeah usually the visits of which you speak are for kids who have already gotten in and are either waiting to decide yes or no, or just haven't even seen the place yet. I'd think about what you want first before even applying here - USMMA is a service academy, not a 'normal' college, not even close to one. You have to want to be here, learn to deal with all the BS, and tolerate dealing with people and situations you may not like. Said experiences are part of what makes you stand out as a graduate, but that part sucks while you're here.

You won't make it without a positive attitude.

Pelletsoo7, good thinking going so early. My DS considered getting in such a long shot he was willing to go to any lenth. And fortunately I was able to send him ( not exactly pocket change ) He visited the last weekend in August and hand delivered his application I believe. For the kids that really want to be there it must show when they visit an overnight. How cool to be there on such a fun day! I am sure lots of us want to hear all about it. I hope you post on the recognition thread too. I have another son who is a senior as well. He applied and was accepted to state U months ago but we are going for a first visit next week ( not nearly as big of deal, an hour and a half in the car). Not to take away from his college choice but getting in didnt require the same amount of work. The service academy is a whole different ballgame! Good luck to you.

The visits are NOT ONLY for those who have already been accepted. My DS had an interest and arranged his visit for April vacation of his Jr year. The application process is not an easy one, so I would make sure that the candidate is interested in KP before going through the entire process.

If planning on participating in a sport - then definitely call the coach. My DS and then DD (two years later) were both recruited for a sport and the coaches arranged everything - including pick up and drop off at the airport (we just provided the flight information and they made sure someone was there to meet DS/DD). DS turned in his application at the time of his visit which was in October of his senior year. DD also visited in October of her senior year. She had also been recrutied by CGA and visited there during the summer going into her senior year. She applied to both but chose USMMA as it has more opportunities after graduation. We did most of our visiting different colleges over the summer going into senior year and then arranged over nights to the ones of most interest in September and October of senior year. DD also did an over night in April to a school she had been accepted to, because she was still wavering with her decision. The seniors visiting in April are most likely getting that first or second visit in to make their final decision. My DD was accepted to the academies and three other very good schools so her decision was difficult and many times the April visit is needed to make that decision by the deadline of May 1st. Hope this helps you understand the reality that seniors are in the process of making some very difficult decisions during the month of April and many need those visits to assist in that process. As stated previously on this thread - take a deep breath - you have plenty of time!
