I couldn't make this up if I tried...

Luckymacy,

Congratualations! Are you still in Brevard Co.? I went outside to watch the shuttle but it was too cloudy to see anything.

I am sure y'all are flying as high as they!

Thanks. We moved to Wallingford PA so not in Florida anymore. My son will always be part Floridian though in his heart. Crazy boy loves heat and humidity!

MoC called yesterday, BFE came today, post marked 22 Feb.

We got the call yesterday from the Rep (wasn't the same MoC that actually gave the nomination so that might explain the delay) and now we learn the BFE was already in transit. Most people seem to report the BFE arrives about a week later so there must have been a MoC transition disconnect or somerthing like that. Son's online status chaged to Appointment Offered this afternoon too.

I thought I'd post our timeline since timeline questions come up so often.

And to recap the real total timeline, his AFA website says he submitted is original package on 1/21/10 and it was last updated on 6/9/10. Hurry up and Wait!

Parents of future basics in the class of 2015 - If you get a call from an unknown number this summer ANSWER IT! It may be your son or daughter calling from someone's cell to say a quick hi. We had a few of these last summer and they were priceless.

Thanks for sharing. It will always be memorable for you all. Congrats and tell your son good luck this summer.

Dadandgrad, it could also be the MOC's office number too! Sometimes the MOC's number comes across as number, not a name.

Just a follow up, for the record

I came home today for lunch and got to catch shuttle Discovery landing. I didn't plan that out in advance so I started to wonder if a little Divine Intervention was about to occur again. Fate has a way... Well, alas, I thought I'd let you all know that, for the record, we didn't call during touchdown to tell us we just won a lottery or even get a pan handler call. In fact all that happened besides a perfect Air Force pilot touchdown in tricky wind was the puppy chewed the heck out of a wicker basket (my wife is probably not going to be happy with my doggy watching attention span on that one).

CONGRATULATIONS to your son LUCKYMACY! It was definitely a sign of good things to come. My husband went to test pilot school. He said he never worked so hard not even at the academy. That year was a blurr for me taking care of two babies. My husband takes great pride in taking care of his CGO's. Everyone he has written recommendations for have gotten in. If your son has any questions about the process, I know he would be more than willing to help out with laying out his plans. My daughter has applied this year as well. She didn't turn in her application until Jan., so it looks like we are going to have a long wait. Again, Congrats and I am so happy you answered that phone!
