The forecast is calling for rain on I day (70% chance at this point) If this comes to be, where will the swearing in be held, where will we meet our Plebes, etc?

"In the event of inclement weather, Midshipmen will be dismissed from the Main Arena of Alumni Hall. Each Midshipman will walk up the stairs to the Concourse level to meethis or her parent(s) at the section with the first letter of the
Midshipman's last name. Late arrivals may leave a message for Midshipmen at Main Office, Bancroft Hall." This information can be found here:

    Google search on "COMDTMIDNINST 1501.1C"

I think the answers you are looking for are at pdf pages 30 and 35 (or thereabouts).

I'd guess Alumni Hall. Pretty much the only place that would fit everyone.

Upon seeing this post I checked weather.com and as of 12:23 today (6/19/2013) I saw 85 degrees with 20% chance of rain for Annapolis,MD. Maybe a new forecast came in? But that is the latest I've seen. Hopefully it will go down to 0% chance of rain....Fingers crossed

While the water in the air may not be coming down in the form of rain, you can bet the atmosphere will be, to put it mildly, extremely "moist" on I-day. In the air and in the eyes, there will be much moisture.

There are simply too many people milling about to direct everybody into Bancroft.
If it is simply raining, you could expect everything to proceed normally.
If it is storming with a lightning threat, you could expect the assembly to be canceled. Believe it or not, I-day is about getting these mids "inducted" and not about the parents being able to see what is going on. [Although I sure want my chance to see too.]

I talked to Admissions today, and also read the very helpful document OysterMom referenced. In that document, it says (3-3) that the Officer in Charge will make the weather call at 1600. Admissions says that if it is clear, it's in T-Court. If it is obviously foul weather, with thunder, lightning and rain, it will be in Alumni Hall. If it is on the bubble, an announcement will be made to guests gathered at T-Court as to whether the ceremony will continue there or move inside.

So no, the Oath of Office assembly will not be canceled. It will either be held in front of Bancroft or in Alumni Hall.

Yup, forgot about the possiblity of using Alumni Hall. Heck, that would be better. Its cooler and the lines of site are better.

But I suspect that would play havoc with the after-swearing-in goodbyes.

Not really. That is addressed in the SOP document as well. Just as they do along Stribling Walk, they will have alpha stations within Alumni Hall and will ask plebes to meet their families at the flag corresponding with the first letter of their last name. Plebes with no families present can meet with Alumni and support volunteers in the lobby.
