I did not receive a nomination from my senator or congressman

It seems to me that the OP wants the same as your son wanted, the option (that several nominations allows) to consider several academies.

Off the subject, but your tag line about the book your wrote, seems out of place on this forum which is not supposed to be commercial.

My son wanted West Point from the moment he laid eyes upon it. His pushy mother wanted him to wait til he saw Navy to decide. He walked into the door after his CVW and sent in his West Point acceptance. He knew he would from the moment it arrived.

As for non-commercial, I have no links to my website or any other information for selling my little book...so the moderators here have seen fit to allow my tag line.

Did I miss something what is the tag line? Just curious. Not sure I would be overly concerned about someone book. I mean she doesn't know everything. Her son just recently graduated in 2012 and the only the constant is change.

You won't hear about the VP nomination until they have decided who will benefit from it. They lat the academy assign it. Also if they academy really wants you in they will make it happen. You still can get nominated by the secretary of defense. Just saying. I live at USMa for years and one thing that is true is to never give up. Tug Boat!!

I may sell widgets for a living, but I don't advertise it in my tagline. I am all about enterprise and salesmanship, I just think this is the wrong forum to promote a book you authored. If the moderators disagree, so be it.

So very true! We are just a couple of moms who wanted to share some info we learned along the way w/ some other moms. The book is totally unofficial. We have a legal disclaimer at the beginning that West Point asked us to include (and we gladly did). While Debbie and I officially "authored" the book, much of it was written from the moms on the West Point Moms facebook page (also unofficial). The official pages that West Point has (facebook, web page, etc) are the best sources of info for parents. Parent clubs, forums, facebooks, and yes, books are great sources for the touchy feely mom stuff (like what to pack in a boodle box). :thumb:

Thank you for proving my point about why the forum should be non-commercial.

"Unofficial" apparently does not mean free….

If anyone wants to buy a widget…let me know…

And thank YOU for getting my book so much more attention in the last few posts than it's had in the year that my tag line has been on this forum! :yllol:

"The greatest danger to a forum is new posters who ignore the excellent contributions of valued longtime members and start snarking about something they have no business snarking about."

Someone should make that into an avatar.

And I so want to be in the position to have to order your book too!!!!

I did apply for nomination to VP but have never heard anything about it.

IIRC from reading elsewhere on SAF, they don't go out until around late Feb-early March, though a user's DS here found out in April. Best of luck to you!

I completely forgot that the VP nom application sends you an email when you complete it. The noms are awarded beginning in March, though, like I said, another user's DS found out in April.
