Hello all,

Anxiety has struck me again, as my projected grade for a class in the closing 3rd quarter of the school year is a "C" in AP Literature. How much of a problem will this be to me?

Relax, this isn't MIT or anything. While your grades are important, there are many more factors that are just as if not more important (SAT, EC's, CFA scores). Being well rounded is much more important than having an immaculate transcript.

Call the airline and see if they'll refund you're ticket, because no one at the Naval Academy has ever gotten a C before. Good luck with the call.

Hello all,

I have been prominent for my enthusiasm on this forum, and I thank all in this community for sharing a sense of commonality and comraderie in our pursuits and dreams.

I am happy to say that I have received an LoA. Now, I am not the typical candidate who receives such letters, as many components of my application were not the best or superior to others. But keep in mind, that with an unbreakable resolve and unrelenting effort, everyone can attain such a great honor.

I pray for all my fellow applicants in the path they tread. Thanks all for your counsel. GO NAVY!

Dear K-DelRosario,

As you've heard before, no-one here can guarantee anything. But as I recall, you're the kid with four languages. When you have the character to post what you did above, and to worry about a 'C', I think we'd all agree that the admissions board would be fools to do anything but tell you to enjoy senior spring, and be mentally readyfor a tough summer,a tough first year, and the potential for a great career in the Navy.

Now go find a seriously cute date for the prom!

K-, We are on another forum together as well. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you also have been recruited to play basketball? If so, basketball, four languages and an appointment...see you on I-Day!!

(Also, you never know what might happen with that grade. Keep doing your best and remember to have lots of fun. Don't let anxiety spoil what should be the best time of your high school life!)

Third quarter is not a final grade. AP high school English is much harder than English at the Academy, my plebe son says. Just don't fail the class. you don't have to pass the AP exam with flying colors either ... once you get to USNA you take THEIR validation tests ... you pass or you don't ...
