A joke that frequently circulates online says something along these lines:

My question: would checking the box saying that you have read the Terms of Use on some software/website be considered an Honor violation, assuming you hadn't read them?

I realize that, in a strictly logical sense, it is a lie... But does USMA really expect all cadets to read what often amounts to 100+ pages of legal jargon before using any site/software with such an agreement?

The box does not mention anything about reading the terms of use, only if you agree. In most cases, companies do not expect you to read all of the fine print, but they present it to you anyways because it is required of them. The real honor violation would occur if you violated the end user agreement, and you would have to fulfill the consequences because you agreed to the company's/institution's terms.
