I'm enlisted, and I have an opportunity to go tdy for als in the summer, and I'm still a candidate for the prep school still. Am I able to go tdy? I remember the mpf putting a lock on me, but I'm not sure if that's just for deployments. If anyone can answer this, that'd be great.

I was still able to go TDY while my statues was 'locked', I would just make sure not to overbook yourself. Remember you are PCSing and everything. Also I would try to find out if you got appointment letter if you havn't already got one. I'm not sure if all of them have been handed out, but I know a good size chunk has.

The Airmen Availability Code (AAC) 5 that was put on your profile restricts PCS only. Deployments and TDYs are still on the table. Hope this helps!

You'll know about the prep-school before airman leadership school. So, if you get your selection for the prep-school, you're TDY will be cancelled and you'll get ready for prep-school.

You should have plenty of time to know about prep-school before ALS. But if you're still concerned, go to the military training/education office and either see if they know; or better yet; they may have enough pull to make a couple phone calls.
