Im not happy....

So another week has gone by and still nothing. Tick, tick, tick, tick. My, my, those stone walls *are* thick, aren’t they? Tick, tick, tick, tick.
 
Rumors are certainly circulating.... Eventually there will be a story, maybe after an investigation?
 
I am certain there is a lot going on behind the scenes that we are not privy to.
 
My DS said there were two civilian workers involved....whether that's true or cadet rumor, I guess we'll find out eventually.
 
As of DS's overnight visit last week, rumors were rampant, and according to plebes, no one had been disciplined. Rumor was that it was not just cocaine use, but dealing from the barracks.
 
Did this even make the newspapers? I haven't heard as much about it as I have about the plebe who had the issue over spring break

Believe me LITS, I already have. It just goes to show that no one even gets in to ask the appropriate questions. Only when the PAO is good and ready will they issue a press release. Let’s place bets, shall we? I say it will be at least three more weeks. No, better make it four!

That decision won't come from a PAO… haha, maybe they'll even blindside him.

And the local paper said nothing? Didn't even ask questions about what you'd heard?
 
LITS dear, I have no idea where the media is with their investigation into the investigation. I just know that they are aware.

AJC, you have even less faith than I do in the system (which is amazing given where I am in life). In the end though, you may be right. Only time will tell. Tick, tick, tick, tick.

Well here's another tack on for the historical record. This one is for USNA in 1922. The famous year that Admiral Rickover graduated. Also, the controversial 'Lucky Bag" year book involving #1 and #2 Mids---Omsted(his brother a 1922 grad from West Point) and Kaplan respectively. There is an Olmsted award started by his USMA '22 brother at USNA-Olmstead died a year later. Kaplan started a graduated #2 award.

Why all the eagerness? Some like to watch train wrecks too I guess. If your kid is involved you already know. If he /she is not, then you don't need to know.

But as all know... There is a need to know. Institutions supported with tax payer dollars, created to build civil servants?

Go to any federal website, click on an IG link and read about incidents far less important than cocaine use, investigated and released to the public... Not to check a box but because "we the people" expect accountability and not "big rugs."

Do we need to know there's an investigation? Not really. At this point, for most of us (including me) this is all a rumor. But if something did happen, and it was investigated, then the public should know... And the press would likely pick it up.
 
The government will tell us all that we need to know. ;-)

I don't see it that way. These are sad events that need to be examined and learned about so as to not to be repeated. Why hide from the truth? Lessons learned, right?
