Important Factors In College Admissions Decisions

Not sure this really tells us anything we don't already know. It basically concludes that your h.s. grades, strength of curriculum and performance on standardized tests are factors many colleges consider. Some colleges also like to appear more selective based on the actual criteria they choose to use on how many are applying. This often gets discussed on this forum. Do you count everyone who simply STARTS an application, only those who COMPLETE it............or something in between. You can make your college APPEAR more selective (where that becomes something of a bragging right) simply by handing out more applications.

Compiling averages in a survey about what various colleges consider important for admissions can be misleading compared to what a single specific school does. SA's, for example, all use other factors as well (athletics, ECA's, leadership, DODMERB, NOM's.....etc.) Those things are more relevant to this forum where the participants are primarily those applying to SA's.
