Important News

DD received a call from MOC on Friday evening but there was no portal change until today. This morning, she received an email of a status change on the portal. The email also contained an offer of appointment as well as information about accepting the appointment and induction day. Her portal was also updated to show her application status as "Fully Qualified Offer of Appointment". Hoping each of you experience the same thrill very soon! Good luck to all.

Congratulations!! Hoping for the same news soon.....sooner the better.

Did she get emails when she received her nomination?
She received letters from the MOCs for her nominations and then a call from one of her nominating MOCs to tell her of her appointment. The call was on Friday and the email and portal update occurred today. The call from the MOC came as a complete surprise to her and it was still a relief to see it in writing from Navy. I get the impression that each MOC handles it differently but at least in our case the call came before anything else. Good luck to you!

My remedial was just reviewed a couple of hours ago. Does anyone know if I can receive any type of word or information even if my medical has not been submitted as of yet, only reviewed?

You are not 3Q yet so the best that could happen is an LOA at this point. You have to be 3Q to get an appointment. They will submit you for a waiver if you are a competitive candidate. If you are not scholastically qualified they won't submit you for a waiver. So basically it's sit and wait. If they submit you for a waiver it's a good sign that you are competitive, but don't ready anything more into it than that.

There was a post on the Facebook page asking about appealingly a rejection. So you can assume rejections went out. (BTW there is no appeal.)

Does being a "competitive candidate" mean you are 3Q?
It all depends. If you are 3Q, then great! The problem is, a lot of people are as well. For what was being discussed, being competitive was to describe those who are given LOAs, people who are not 3Q yet but they are guaranteed Appointment once they become 3Q. These are people who they find exceptional from an Academic and Physical standpoint. LOAs are given because the candidate either does not have their Medical status ready or has not received a nomination. I have received a LOA because I do not have my medical status as of now. I was told by Admissions that once I do, and I am medically qualified, I will receive an official Offer of Appointment.

3Qs. Medically qualified, physically qualified, scholastically qualified.
