From what I've read on past threads:
CFA+LOA+DODMERB+NOM = APPT.
Is this correct?
Dear son has CFA, DODMERB, LOA, + 2 NOM's given December 9th and December 10th, but his candidate portal hasn't been updated to show the noms. How long do you wait until you call someone? And who would you call? Or do you really just sit back and wait?
That happened just before Christmas break so they might be backed up with all that has happened in the month off. You could call admissions but it should update in the next week or so. Congratulations!
YESSSS!!! hahaha now its just time to wait on the letter.. lol
Don't worry yet. While your MOC may have notified you, they may take awhile longer to notify the academy. My nomination got updated on my candidate portal after 3 weeks from when my MOC notified me. So I wouldn't worry yet, especially because of the back up from winter break. Good Luck!
Thanks AF! You are right, but it just seems like it has been so long! His liaison told him to wait until next week and then they could start digging if they have to.
Congratulationss to you, Coffecup3!! I've been following your posts and wish you the best! I'll try to be a little more patient! Son is much more calm than I am.
Thanks so much! I am really impatient today because my MALO told me to check the mail this week (hint, hint?)! I have a track meet after school today and won't be home until close to midnight (I know, right? Meets are soooo long) so I will be anxious. Hopefully if anything does come in the mail today, my parents will at least let me know instead of me just waiting haha .
Also, from what you posted about your son (LOA... Nom..) you should be hearing really soon. After your nomination is processed in the candidate portal, things tend to move quickly (I was unfortunate to have mine delayed because of winter break). Good Luck!
We are in the same boat-son is at a wrestling meet out of state until late Saturday. As far as the time frame goes, we've been waiting 5 weeks since he received his 2 nominations. Those came before the Christmas break as well. Tuesday is the day that son will call liaison or admissions rep to find out how things are moving along. He saw that some have received appointments from the NWL and now he wants to get his moving!
I hope you did well at your meet! Fingers crossed that you have a package waiting!
I've found the nominations can get crazy, oftentimes with the letter verification being received weeks before registering on the portal.... or vice versa! I received a nom from my congressman, dated 10 Dec on my portal.... and I didn't receive a letter verification until January 5th!
Good luck to everyone going through the waiting process.
Yeah nothing came in the mail and monday is a holiday haha. Thats ok though because I keep myself busy, which allows me to be patient. My meet was great. I usually run the 800m or some distance event but ended up running the 400m leg in our relay at 65 secs! And today I have soccer indoor state cups . I don't know what I would do without sports. Hopefully your son did well at the meet for wrestling!
Armybratkl: It's funny how these systems work out. Regardless, you got your nomination! I found out I got my nomination from my congressman a week after the interview in november. However, two of my friends applying to a different academy still haven't heard anything from the same MOC!!
Nothing came for our son yesterday in the mail either! At least we can relax a little for a couple of days! Tuesday will be another matter!
Congrats on your meet! How'd soccer go? Our sons pulled in at 3am this morning. Long day for them and long drive home for their team. They were at an out of state meet with teams from 4 states. Their (both of our sons wrestle) team got 1st. Our WP son placed 3rd in his weight class. They have a few more weeks before league championships, regionals and then state. Finals start this week but practice continues. I guess the stress from this process, the academic preparation and the sport component is good practice for what will come at West Point!
We did ok for soccer. We had a 2 hour drive up and so we didn't "wake-up" enough and lost our first game. We did win our 2nd and 3rd games, however we didn't win our bracket and we just missed the wild card to move on to semis. The games were short 24 minute ones.
Once again, AF, you are exactly right! First of the nominations appeared online yesterday. 6+ weeks after he received the nomination in writing! Now the waiting for the second nomination and the next piece in the puzzle begins!
