The Regimental Calendar lists the Indoc Graduation Parade on Friday the 21. ( insert head scratching smiley face here). Which is it? And will some fabulous alumni be on hand to make another video? Midshipman Antonelli has been terrific at taking and posting pictures for us very quickly. Deepsea you and your photogs rock too! After spending two weeks intoxicated by my photo binging and gushing on the 2015 class family Facebook Page I am ready to come back and learn here at my SAF home.
So, what's been going on over here? Besides girlfriends and big motors that make the big boys swoon?

It's today at 7pm. USMMA is filiming it, but it won't be live. I was told there should be a link up by next Thurs or Friday on the USMMA Parents Page. There is a dad of a P/C who is going to go and try to stream it live. Look on the 2015 Parents FB page, where he will be posting a link if his plans work.

Glad to see it has been moved into the evening hours. Big change from the traditional 4 PM parade of years past but it's probably due to the 100+ temps we are expecting today. Parents have been allowed to attend in the past so if you are able, go see it. It's an impressive change from the kids you dropped off a couple of weeks ago.

Actually, those big motors are exactly the sort of thing that makes my DD swoon. She can go on and on and on talking about such things. Guess that's why she's getting the engineering degree. But she's been too busy putting the finishing touches on sea projects and getting organized for her return to KP, so I haven't showed her the link yet. Hard to believe she goes back for her 1C year tomorrow! Where did the time go? I do have to say that I will be ready to unbuckle and get off the roller coaster after graduation!

Congratulations to all the parents of this year's Candidates! The Indoc Graduation Parade is your first milestone! Hang in there. The ride only gets wilder.

Lynpar, I'm not sure of your location, but I'd be more relieved. We're about 120 miles north of KP and it's close to 100 degrees here.

Just wanted to add - a plebe at West Point passed away yesterday afternoon doing land navigation exercises. Don't know if it was heat-related or not. Thoughts and prayers with his family.

Parade Cancelled

Yes, its sad and probably best to take precaution as it is scary and it isn't safe to have our DS/DD pass out. Yes, my prayers to the family as I hope they will be fine. I live in Vegas and we are dealing with 100 degree and higher temps. My DS needs to drink more water.

Prudent to cancel as temp is now 106 and is not expected to drop below 100 until well after 10 PM this evening. This just means all of the P/C parents will enjoy the Acceptance Day parade even more!

Heck with relieved, now I am grateful. I hadn't read about the Westpoint plebe until now. Such sorrow.

I saw pics of my son practicing with 6 or 7 others today with rifles. Would that have been prep for the parade? Does that mean that he has a good chance of being on the rifle/drill team?

academy conditions

Got a call from son who is EMT. Parade cancelled due to heat. Tree off campus fell on power line; half campus without power. 94 at time of his call, 5 pm edt

They have a drill competition tomorrow (I believe it is tomorrow) for all the Candidates to compete in against each other. This has nothing to do with the drill team - all Candidates except Band Co will work with rifles.

Have all the plebes been given rifles already? Will there be a rescheduling of the parade and hopefully more pictures, if so?
Thank you!

As the rest of the Regiment returns to Campus today I doubt there will be a rescheduling of a parade for Indoc Graduation, but I sure hop that their will be more pictures posted, this morning they have the Waterfront Competition which has recently been the final "Indoc Activity" and I'd expect images captured from that would be a joy to see.

Congratulations to the Members of the Class of 2015 that have made it through Phase 1 of your Plebe Year, and their parents too! One Phase down Seven more to go and then next year this time you'll be able to see a Plebe who isn't a member of your own class....

Until then remember to take care of your academics first and then everything else will likely fall into place so you can and will "make it."

Indoc's over!

Just dropped my 1st class DS off this morning, He is so happy to be a Senior and reunited with his class! To all the Plebe Candidate parents, congratulations! You made it through this part and the time will go by fast. As JasperDog said, focus on your studies and there will be alot less stress in their lives.
