Parkermom~What are you doing up at 3 a.m.?????????? Glad you found him. Now I have another excuse to spend even MORE time online:shake:
Got absolutely NOTHING done yesterday. Oh well!

I'm going to PM you. Check up in the welcome box after you have logged on. Have a good day. Can't wait for more pix!:thumb:

Thank you again, MIDSHIPMAN2012. You and your crew are lifesavers to all the moms of 2013 who are lucky enough to know about the forum. I couldn't have waited until Tuesday.

Thanks Mids2012 for the pics

Thanks for the photos, it's our only point of contact right now. My son is in 4th Co. so he also "lucked out" with one of the air conditioned dorms. He is a lacrosse player from NY. The weather appears to be cooperating for the time being. Thanks again 2012.

Thank you all for taking and posting all the pictures. It is good to see them all alive and moving. My son is in 4th Company. He wants to sail.

Wow

:thumb:Wow.....just saw my boy for the first time. Thank you for this site and link!!!

Thank you for the pictures. That made my husband and I feel so much better!! I know my son is in his glory doing all that neat stuff!! Do you know what company that was?

re: waterfront photos

great pics, I saw my son in a photo, he is in 4th Company.they were on the ship reviewing knots.

Thank you. I could not find my son in any of the waterfront photos. He has been in several photos but, I am not sure if he is in company 1 or 3. He was also the first photo of band company that was posted and I know he is not in band as he is a baseball player and has not played an instrument since middle school. Oh well maybe I will find out what company on Tuesday. Please keep the photos coming. All of us parents really appreciate it!!

Midshipman2012

Thank you for posting these photos! It would have been hard to wait until Tuesday. Now I've copied url addresses of our son's photos and sent them out in emails to friends and families. AWESOME JOB. You 5 midshipman have special places in our hearts and in heaven.

webcams?

Webcams? What webcam? You mean there is an electronic means of seeing DS and I don't know about it? Please share....

Photos in Perspective

My husband just put things in perspective for me (as usual), and I thought I would share here. While you (and I) are waiting for photos and searching for your DD or DS, contrast your situation with that of the typical college parents who send their children away to school. They are hoping NOT to see photos of their kids (like on Youtube, for example, with their daughters half clothed drinking out of the tap or their sons smoking a bong. I would much rather have our worries, wouldn't you?

You can try these webcams from the Academy website:

http://www.usmma.edu/about/webcams/

in years past they disabled them during Indoc, but appears they are still up and running. I couldn't get it to work in Internet Explorer, but they worked fine in Mozilla Firefox.

Thanks

Saw My son....feel so much better....what a day thursday

Today's Pictures are Uploading

Today's events were captured and are currently being uploaded (should be done in about 15 minutes)

Still some uncertainty about the companies. There's some confusion this year due to the fact that companies are scrambled around with all of the construction going on. So if you can't find your CS or CD in their respective company you might want to check others or possibly the MISC album.

That is all. Carry on.

Day Three 4th Company

On Day Three, 4th Company, picture 57, everyone is holding out their canteen except for my son, does anyone know why or what that means?

The Canteen trivia game

Well, the DIs like to play a game with them where they make them hold out their canteen while asking them questions. When they get a question right they can put their canteen down because it's painful to hold it out there.

So Congradulations you're son is current on his plebe knowledge.

String on Belt

So the canteen I understand what do the strings that some PC's have tied to their canteen belts mean? Thanks for the pics and the information!

If I remember correctly, they tie a knot in their string every time they empty their canteen. It is a way to track that they are drinking enough water. They have to drink a minimum number of canteens of water each day.
