Just curious if anyone has experience with IST at USNA (team which competes at the annual Sandhurst Military Skills Competition held at West Point) i.e. the selection process (is there a "screener"), time commitment, training regimen, and Sandhurst itself. Also, what type activity is IST? Is it considered an ECA or a BSA? I could not find it on the USNA website.

There are a series of screeners for IST. Each year is different but typically it begins with a "super PFT," a weekend screener lasting for an undisclosed amount of time over a weekend, and finishes with interviews. After that the Team members will select who they want on the team based on scores, performance, and interviews.
Practice is everyday, sometimes twice in one day (morning PT, shoot in the afternoon) with training evolutions on some weekends.
IST is an ECA.
