    Hello all!

I just got my ROTC scholarship and I couldn't be happier knowing that my letter should be here today or tomorrow. I now am faced with a bit of a predicament. I applied to NROTC as well, and I don't think I will hear back from them any time soon.

My question is just kind of what is on my mind-- Do I go ahead and pull the trigger on my ROTC and forget about Navy? I really do not want to lose my army offer because I waited for Navy, and didn't get it...leaving me without a chair when the music stops.

I should note some stats, to help you advise me better:

    29 ACT
    3.9 GPA
    All Honors
    Illinois State Scholar
    Varsity Letterman
    Class, Student Council President
    Student Council Rep
    Drum Major
    Club Founder
    4 yr science club
    Captain of speech team

    TIER THREE MAJOR :confused::confused:

Any input at all is appreciated folks!

IMHO, take the AROTC offer. Tier 3 is very difficult to come by. Someone please correct if I am wrong but I heard less than 5% of all NROTC offers will go to tier 3 majors (non engineering). Best of luck.

Go ahead and accept the AROTC offer, if you end up getting the NROTC Scholarship you can then decide. If you decide to take the NROTC you simply decline the AROTC at that time. Even though you accept the ARPTC now you are not obligated until you start school.

+1 to Jcleppe. You don't have to decide now. It's a good idea to begin thinking about it as you might have to decide between the two later.

My heart is telling me Army. I think I already sort of know. Especially with my letter today. First choice, four year!

The only way Navy could beat that is if it were your preference and they also offered the same scholarship. So... decision made?

Now you can put a big smile on your face and enjoy the rest of High School.

Keep up on the physical training and start school in the fall prepared.

    Congratulations
