I believe you need to request it through your admissions officer. It is an optional interview, but it can be very helpful. Anyone else have other ideas? Good luck to you!!!

Contact your Admissions Officer and ask for an interview. I strongly recommend it. Even though I didn't get in last year, it definitely helps if you have a strong interview (Also helps your confidence).

Interview on Cadet for a Day?

My DS has a Cadet for a Day visit planned the first week of December. Does anyone know if he can be interviewed while he is there?

Yes, as part of Cadet for a Day they do receive an interview from the Cadet they are assigned to. In my son's case, it was not a formal sit-down type of interview, but was very informal with the Cadet asking him questions conversationally.

In the past, the Admissions Officers (if available) would interview the candidates during their visit. Apparently, unless specifically requested, that is no longer happening.

My DS got an email from a USCGA admissions rep who was in town for a college fair. He posted times he was available for interviews. DS emailed back for an interview time. The admissions rep was VERY helpful. I have to say he was very well organized for the visit, as well. He was not my DS admissions rep, but was still able to do the interview. Any college fairs close by?

I have emailed my AO and asked to be added to the local interview list. Does anyone know when I should expect to hear from the local CGA Partner to schedule an interview? Thanks!

It depends on the number of AAPs in your area and their proximity to you. When I get an email regarding a possible interviewee I try to set it up within a week or two, but this can vary. If you don't hear something within a few weeks or so, recontact the AO. Good luck!
