Hello everyone,

I hear a ton about all the intercollegiate sports at the Academy, and I know they are stellar programs to say the least, but for those of us who aren't going to be an IC athlete, I haven't heard too much about the intramural sports.

One of the things I was looking forward to in college in general was the opportunity to try new sports and new activities– even if I am a newbie at it. I was wondering if it could be this way at USAFA. Is it alright for someone to be a complete newbie at an intramural sport simply because they wanted to try something new? Or would it be better to stick with whatever they did best, so as to not drag down their squadron (if athletic achievement affects squadron standings).

Could anyone with experience chime in on what the intramurals are like?

Also, I was really interested in Judo at the Academy, but it's considered a club sport. Would this mean that one would have to do this on top of the other sports he/she chose to do? I wouldn't mind that, but I'd imagine it'd be tough to have to balance that among all the other doolie responsibilities if I got in.

Thank you!

Intramurals are pretty chill. Feel free to try something new, if you get the chance.
