iPod Playlists...

This is hysterically funny to read. Who's seen who live? First concert that I went to that my Mom still doesn't know about to this day was Jethro Tull. LOL He gives me the yucks in this day & time.
Best concert: Eagles-Hell Freezes Over tour
Worst: 3rd Eye Blind
Recent: Bruce (no last name needed)
I've seen Seger & Mellencamp. Those rated.
Is strange to see people's choice in music. I thought I was the only odd bird who could go from Glen Miller to Walk This Way in the blink of an eye. Yikes, that'll be stuck in my head the rest of the day.

Milli Vanilli! LOL No Pearl Jam fans?

JM I'm surprised you haven't mentioned Five for Fighting...the best!

Others I like:

Eagles
Clapton
James Taylor
Carly Simon
Rupert Holmes
Tom Petty
All the old southern rock bands-Allmans, Lynrd Sknyrd(sp?), Marshall Tucker, .38 special
The Police

More contemporary-Maroon Five, Goo Goo Dolls, Train, Nickelback

And of course SNOOP DOG...ha ha

Jamzmom You got it right…if they play it I’ll listen to it but it does have to rock hard…can’t do the B Streisand thing either…sorry z, no soft touches here…goes for ol Phil Collins too but can tolerate Genesis a bit!

Today’s list started with White Rabbit, love the airplane, can leave the starship! Went on to the Doors, Scissor Sisters, Staind and the Yardbirds.

As long as it rocks I’m there

love Pandora.com
The Mid does too!

“Sweet Judy Blue Eyes” as I post….

ProfMom is way cool! Good stuff. Break on thru to the other side! Morrison was hot. (sorry, had to be said) LOL Too bad he wasted it with a bad life.

Boss! Marshall Tucker, the entire band lives near me. I see their tour bus roll thru on occasion. They are awesome. And nobody tops James Taylor. Five For Fighting is my car music. 100 years is my fav. Makes me turn into a cry baby tho & hard to drive the "snot rocket" without running over someone's mail box. You do indeed have good listening habits.

Jamzmom,
I have only been to two concerts in my life.
1983 – Def Leppard, I was supposed to go with my boyfriend but he couldn’t get off work that night so my Mom went! We had fun and she actually enjoyed it.
1996? – Steve Miller Band at “the Gorge in George” (outdoor amphitheater near George, WA). Good music and beautiful scenery, what more could you want.

boss,
I like almost everything by Nickelback and some of Maroon Five, Train, Goo Goo Dolls, and Five for Fighting. With the exception of Nickelback I can’t listen to those bands when my husband is around because he can’t stand them.

So we are moving into concerts now...

First concert - Styx
Los Lobos - before they hit it big
Motley Crue and Ozzy - What an awsome concert!!
Judas Priest
Ratt and Poison
Jimmy Buffet - I have a ticket stub that says I was there.. Don't truely recall that day...
Shonen Knife
Jewell - Provided medical coverage since it was on a Marine Base, got in free!
Dead Kennedys

Now I think I'm to old, and I like my hearing to much.. :)

1st Concert…much older sister took me and a friend without moms knowledge to an odd combination of Stephen Stills and George Carlin, Milwaukee Summerfest early 70’s. Carlin gets arrested on stage and Stills was totally stoned…Mom never let her take us again!

Best Concert (due to setting) Moody Blues at Red Rocks

Most Fun just because…BeeGees

Worst Concert Offspring
decided at this point I was probably too old for the music I like!

Jamzmom…Saw James Taylor in the late 70’s and got treated to a rare Carly Simon appearance.

RetNavyHM Can any of us actually remember being in attendance at a Jimmy Buffet concert? LOL

Could this by why? LOL Now that we're "grown up", I'd advise only 1800 tequila.

I had so forgot about Styx. Now thats age telling... Used to drive my brother NUTS with that one. He HATED them. ProfMom, I'd kill to see James Taylor. Then & now. I missed out on Clapton tickets a few years ago. I could kick myself. I saw BB King. Forgot about him. Had Kenny Wayne Sheppard with him at a Blues Festival. Pretty cool.

Steve Miller brings back lots of memories. (Smiling to myself & not sharing those) AND Boston! See what you started Z! I think this thread has more posts in it that any other combined.

I'm old. When the boy was home a few weeks ago, he had tickets to Flogging Molly. I had to actually look them up. Celtic Punk. Only way to describe that mess. He had to let his ticket go as he was on standby to leave at a moments notice. He pouted for three days. Apparently it was sold out. I was kinda happy he couldn't make it. I had visions of my Mid loosing an eye in the mosh pit.

Concerts(and admission I haven't been to one in years...same with movies I must confess...ha ha)

James Taylor-can't beat him

Eric Clapton-just before he got really popular

Huey Lewis-one of the best

Chicago-multiple times

Neil Young-twice I believe

Eagles-Awesome, classic

CSNY-an all-time favorite

Barry Manilow-ha ha :shake:

You can see I'm a little out of the current loop. Oops wait-I did see Connecticut's own John Mayer a couple years ago...another favorite of mine.

My current favorite is a hip hop song that I can't remember the title or the artist. The chorus goes something like, "Shake it.....make your babydaddy mad..."

oops, i almost forgot... gotta list "Play that funky music white boy" by KC and the sunshine band :shake: :thumb: :shake:

I can't believe no one has even mentioned CCR yet!

I mean the GOOD CCR...none of this cross canadian crap...

Agreed on CCR/John Fogarty.

Sorry but "Play That Funky Music..." was by Wild Cherry.

Other personal faves:Journey, Bryan Adams

if it hasnt been mentioned yet, ive recently started to listening to Queen. "i want it all" is a great motivating song for the hardest part of a run.:shake:

Commisioner: are you talking about that song in the Navy Carrier Squadron video youtube? if so its Pump It by the Black Eyed Peas

:yllol:

Well, at least we're all having fun! :thumb:

I am with DMiex and Boss on John Fogarty and CCR - grew up listening to him.....
Boss - Carly Simon and JT both are awesome. Saw Sweet Baby James in college - had to camp out all night with the roomies to get tickets. The very first album I bought was her Tapestry album - cost me about $10 in 1973 - would be about $50 in today's dollars though.

JM- saw Marshall Tucker band about 20 years ago during my country rock phase - awesome outdoor concert on a summer night.
The very best concert was the Eagles - 2nd Final Tour - haha l love when these bands start numbering their final tours! Don Henley - still hot after all these years singing "Boys of Summer" and there is no leaving out "Hotel California"
No one mentioned and Country (thank goodness) but the one song I would have on my I-Pod (if I had one!) besides Johnny Cash's "Walk the Line" is
"Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" by Big & Rich - talk about profound lyrics!

Hate to be the "know it all" but Tapestry was by Carole King, another favorite of mine.

Now just so everyone doesn't think that I'm just a little punker, if you have DirecTV or Dish network (and on some rural cable providers) you can enjoy The Big Joe Polka Show. An hour of live polka music every week. Its a must view in my house on Sat night. Just look up RFD-TV to find the showings in your time zone!:thumb:

RetNavyHM Do you polka? Purchase your favorites right here: http://www.wtkm.com/PMS/MUSICSHOP.htm

We got us a good Wisconsin German wedding to go to this summer…imagine that there will be a lot dancing to good old polka music!

DMeix, forgot about CCR, just put on “Have You Ever Seen The Rain”

Can’t do Peter Frampton, had a college roomie that played Frampton Comes Alive over and over and over and…

Oooooo.... Polka.... LOL

Hey Boss I've never felt the  feeling with Carol King. CCR yes. Tapestry, nope. How's that work? :yllol:

I've got Dish & XM radio. Somehow I can never find the perfect music line up on either that suits my taste. Always changing channels. Kinda getting as bad as am radio. Remember am radio anyone?
