iPod Playlists...

OMGosh! Styx's "Lady" was dedicated to me by my childhood sweetheart. I LOVE that song! :shake:

Had to download some Def Leppard (spelling?) to appease some coworkers of mine (the things we listen to when you're asleep).

My I-pod wish list keeps getting longer! Great music ideas from you guys! :band:

Man I totally had forgotten about The Band. I must see what I can aquire tonight.

Now from someone who works in copyright and licensing industry...we are all getting this stuff legally right? LOL we in the industry are really the worst!

James Taylor- "Going to Carolina"(for JM) "Sweet Baby James"

Brings back alot of memories of rocking sweet baby jamz while singin' those two songs. Sigh. What happened to the years..... :frown:

Cherry Bomb & Jack & Diane, Mellencamp gold. I burnt groves in that cassette until I upgraded.

I swear I come by them legal ProfMom. Have my kids get them for me on their free sites or I upload for .88 cents.

I'm going to see how I can export my artist list and post it here.

I might crash the site, though!

If every one of their songs wasnt about cali or LA id say red hot chili peppers were a good band, but not.... i do like under the bridge though

Actually The Killers are not bad. Their Hot Fuss CD has some pretty good songs on it. This might be one of the few new bands out there that you will still hear on the radio in 20 years.

I just found this on line...one of my first concerts ever. I was a sophomore in college. One dollar! :shake:

^^^^^^^ Oooooo, I am now in 70's mode thanks to this (I was gonna say "old" but then I changed my mind) ticket stub. :shake:

Bang a Gong - T-Rex
Dancin' in the Moonlight - Thin Lizzy
Ride Captain Ride - Blues Image
Brandy - Looking Glass
Melissa - Allman Bros.
All Right Now - Free

Wow I read through this entire thread again and I cant believe nobody mentioned Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Greatest - Song - Ever

I think we have a bit of a generation gap here - IMO - Freebird - is one of the worst songs ever - that song is like fingers on a chalkboard to me - UGH.

But, if you ever watch the movie Elizabethtown, the band plays it in an absolutely hilarious scene. Best part of the whole movie!

JAM, may I suggest you put your daughter on a plane to Alabama and never set foot down here:shake: . We couldn't get "sweet" tea to register with you and now you are commiting Southern heresy with this statement. Lynryrd Skynyrd is kind of like NASCAR, you have to be bred (preferrably several generations) and born in the South before you can trash either down here.:shake:

I have one up on ya Chip. No one mentioned Sweet Home Alabama either. It is the official southern national anthem. No matter what event you go to down here, you'll hear it. Play it every year at the All Academies Ball & every kid jumps from their chair to the dance floor. :thumb:

JAM, freebird is not even a southern sounding song. Its considered one of the greatest songs of all time. And those who do not think its the greatest ever have it second on their list behind only Stairway to Heaven. Collins/Rossington's solo in Freebird is nothing short of an absolute masterpiece. Its saying something when 25 years later fans at concerts still scream out "Freebird" to be played regardless of the band and their style.

Edit - YYZ by Rush is a fine piece of Instrumental work too, a must have for any rockers iPod Playlist.

Chip - I never said Freebird was a southern sounding song - nor did I make any disparaging remarks about Lynyrd Skynyrd -
In fact, I love Lynyrd Skynyrd - yep Jamzmom - even us Northerner's like SHA!
For some reason Freebird gets on my nerves - Stairway to Heaven on the otherhand IS the best.
All this Skynyrd talk leads me to another pet peeve - Band who insist on going on tour from the grave - may Ronnie Van Sant rest in peace.
For me Skynyrd - the band died in 1977 - no way should they be touring in 2007. Not the same band.
Ok well that was my rant for the day. Chip - if you ever need to rent a movie for a stay at home date then check out Elizabethtown - my girls love it, and the Freebird scene is pretty cool.
