Is it acceptable to use the same essay?

The essay I wrote for my Congressman's nomination application wholeheartedly describes my passion to attend the academy and serve our country. I feel if I were to try and rewrite a similar essay for the Candidate Personal Statement, it would lose that sense of honesty coming from the heart. Would it be wrong to use that same essay for the Personal Statement if it directly answers the question and meets the character limit?

DS used several versions of the same essay for candidate statement and nomination applications. They asked many of the same questions, after all. If you wrote it, I don't see an issue reusing it, or versions of it.

There is no, repeat, no communication between the congressperson's office and USNA. All the Academy ever sees is the congressperson's list of 10 nominees (or whatever listing they use). No matter how good you think you aced your member of congress interview, it totally stops at that office along with all information you submitted and you start all over again with the Academy. Which should give you a hint of how important your BGO interview can be (as well as your essay).

There are no ethical issues with re-using the same piece of work for different source submissions. However, I would caution to read the prompts/questions carefully to ensure you answer them.
