Is it too late for me to join AFROTC?

I've looked at the possible schedules I could have. I think I could minimize my EE pipeline delay by taking 18 hours (AFROTC courses included) this coming semester. Does that sound do-able as a 250?

Only you can answer that. Plenty of ROTC students take huge class loads and work AND participate in EC's and do very well in ROTC. Others know they can only do so much and never take more than 12-14 credits per semester. It's up to you and how well you normally perform under pressure and a heavy workload. I generally take 6-7 classes per semester to include the 2 AFROTC classes which have their own workload. If you have excelled in the past under a large class load 18 credit hours + AFROTC will be challenging but doable. Keep in mind that 2nd year is when things pick up academically, especially for engineering majors. You should know yourself well enough by now to know if you'll be able to give your best effort to something like ROTC with a large academic workload. If you're worried about staying on track, you have 5 years to finish your degree and there are plenty of summers inbetween. Taking one less class to ensure you have time to do well in school and ROTC won't derail you. Being a 250 you will need extra face time to catch up with your fellow cadets who have already been seen by the commander.

You'll have to do this when you start AFROTC anyways, but it may help you plan out your classes for this semester if you look up the AFROTC Form 48 and start filling it out now. The Form 48 is an academic plan where you put down all of your classes for your entire 4-5 years in college, summers included. Seeing everything laid out may help you figure out if you really need to front load or if you can stretch things out a bit.
