Is there a list of colleges and Universities that offer free room and board to AROTC

If you go to the GoArmy site and under ROTC section you can search schools. Search for all schools in all states and it will generate a state by state list with description of benefits that the schools may offer as extras. Unfortunately you have to go school by school to find out, but it's a very complete list.

List of NROTC Room and Board Schools

A very resourceful mom on another board found a great list somewhere of schools and their offerings of room and board for Navy ROTC kids. I thought folks over here might be interested so here it is

drexel university gives free room and 25 percent discount on board to ROTC scholarship recipients.

check the room and board thread on this board, I've listed all the monetary incentives and room and board offered by schools for AROTC scholarship winners.

That was a great service you did posting this information- I've made the other thread into a sticky as this question will be raised time and again as the year goes on.
Thanks :thumb:

My son and I spoke in Dec. 2013 with LT. Ellison in recruiting at Univ. of Mississippi, and he said it is absolutely untrue that students at Ole Miss on NROTC get free rooms. He'd never heard of it. Somebody else might want to check.

That list is not totally accurate. Louisiana state university does not offer free room and board. DS is a MSI at LSU on scholarship and had to use it for room and board. He had other scholarships that paid tuition. I did call and ask and was told that they no longer do that.

Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth offers about $10K/year in Room/board for ROTC scholarship students that have at least a 27 on the ACT.

You get an ROTC scholarship there and you basically go to school for free if you have a 27 on the ACT. Great school.

The best advice is to contact each individual college. The lists on this forum can be as old as 4-5 years old. Individual colleges may change their offers of R&B from year to year, or the requirements, or may have once offered it but now do not. It's in your best interest to contact the college first and ask, before relying on this and subsequent lists.

+1 ca2midwestmom. Information posted here can definitely have a "stale date," and also, processes change. AROTC boards this year would be a case in point.
