Is this a valid activity?

So, I am filling out a nomination application for one of my Senators. The application asks me to list all school activities. I am not in high school, I just finished my freshman year at my state U. I was in a sorority there. Would saying I was in a sorority be a valid school activity, what with all of the philanthropies and what not?

Yes. However, as with any activity, be prepared to discuss what you actually did, during an interview. If all you did in the sorority was attend parties, not sure it's worth mentioning. If you participated in charity fund-raisers, tutoring/mentoring programs, booster activities for the school, etc., then that's what you want to focus on.
