Are there any current mids/parents of current mids here who know what calculator (TI-84, 89, N-Spire, Casio, etc.) plebes are issued at the start of the ac year? I am considering getting a TI-89 for AP Calculus and USNA next year, but if the Academy issues 89s I would rather save the money and just borrow one for the time being.

In high school DS uses the TI-Nspire like they issue at USNA. It's pricey. But the thought was by getting one for hs Calc and Physics he will have enough time to learn it inside and out (under a lot less pressure). Just sayin'.

Do you know if it is the CAS-CX or just the CX? Or are they not allowed to use calculators with a CAS?

For the price difference I don't see it as worthwhile to buy before. What if it has a problem or they decide to go with a newer model?

I see they charge $1,700 for a computer, I assume a laptop. I just bought him a HP Windows 10 laptop. Anyone see any reason he couldn't use it instead and save the ??

Thanks again. It looks like some bring it to use for homework or when they leave base but don't hook it up
