Issued Items

HB2011, I recall from an older post that you are female, so I'm guessing that your question re. what exactly is issued to plebes may also extend to personal items for females. I cannot help you on this as I have a plebe son, but perhaps someone else with a daughter, or a current female mid can chime in with some of the specifics (or send you a PM). I remember reading some references/suggestions to what females could take in on IDay last year, but it may have been for RDay at USMA (on their part of this forum) - they had an excellent Q&A thread with some very specific tips for females. The hair issue has been discussed here, but I know there are other concerns for females and it is helpful to get answers to some of those questions.

You really don't need any personal items on I-Day other than the one item below. Many women have strong preferences on various toiletries, etc. The Midstore has quite a few brands (tons more than in my day) but, if you want something special, your family can send it. Once Ac Year starts, you'll be able to get to Annapolis Mall and elsewhere to buy what you want.

Trust me, you really can endure for 8 weeks with only what you're issued.

The ONE thing I would suggest females bring is WHITE sports bras and other bras. These need to be fit well and there won't be any time for that on I-Day. I believe you're allowed to bring quite a few and I doubt they are taken away. Do NOT bring/wear anything other than white bras and undies -- you wear white all summer and they show through -- especially in summer whites in the sun. Just saying . . .
