I was recently appointed and was wondering what they will allow me to take as a 4th class. more specifically, am I allowed to bring hygiene items, such as an electric razor or toothbrush? thanks!

Yes, those items will be on the list you will get in the Appointee Packet. You have lots of paperwork to go yet, and you will receive all info needed to Report. However I will caution you with the perspective of a current Doolie, take what they tell you, and not much else if anything. Keep it light you'll carry it in your left hand most of day, and if the Cadre do not think you need it, and it wasn't on the List, they'll stow it till August! You'll get what you need for BCT, the rest you'll have to earn!
 
Put everything in a backpack or small duffle.
And start getting all your vaccines as soon as possible.
 
Only bring what they tell you to bring. Everything/Anything else will be locked away in storage. Also remember that anything you bring will have to be carried for most of the day and they will be giving a whole lot of other things to carry along the way. Do NOT bring roller luggage - for your own sake. :)

(Edit) Oops - seems I'm repeating what was already said. Ok, take what I said as emphasis.
