This will be my second time applying to the Academy and the NROTC Marine Option scholarship. I am trying to look at my other options if these two don't work out this time around. If i don't receive an appointment to the Academy or NAPS and i don't receive the NROTC scholarship I'm looking into possibly joining the reserves next year and reapplying to the Academy. can some one explain how that would work?

As I understand it, as an enlisted Marine you have to be recommended to the Academy first, it isn't as simple as just applying. Of course, you can make your desire known I'm sure, and if you are an excellent Marine you will no doubt have a fine shot.

But if the Academy is your goal, attempting to reach it through the enlisted side will not be the easiest route.

I don't think that's the smartest idea. My advice is to continue with college and earn the best grades that you can. Why were you not accepted the first two times? Did you ask your BGO?

But lets think about it..
If you do join the marines as enlisted then you'll have to
go through marine basic and then your job training...

All that takes time.. It may hinder your goal more than
it will help. If your enlisting to get admitted for the class of 2016
I don't think it will help you simply because you wont
have enough time to enlist then apply as an enlisted marine.
It may help with future admissions cycles though.
