I am applying to USMA and USNA. It says on both of files under nominations, JROTC. Does that mean I for sure have the nomination or am I just eligible to receive it? My JROTC unit is HUD and I did send in the paperwork filled out by my instructor.

Thanks,

Jason David

I believe it means you have the nomination. I received one from my SMI and it showed up in USNA CIS. Probably works similar to the presidential nomination where you submit the paperwork and receive the nomination but still have to compete in a national pool with it and only a certain number of appointments are allotted for it.

Just a quick question. I am also in JROTC in my high school. How will this affect my nomination process? Is there a certain procedure for JROTC cadets?
Thanks!

The ROTC nomination can only come from an honors ROTC unit, check with your commander.

No....

It depends on what JROTC you are in and which academy you are applying for. For example, if you are in Army JROTC, no matter what you are, either Honor Unit with Distinction, Honor Unit, or the lower one, you can apply for the JROTC nomination for USMA. If you are in army but applying to USAFA or USNA, you must be an Honor Unit with Distinction (HUD). It goes the same way for all the JROTC units and academies. If you an HUD Navy Unit, you can apply for the nomination for any academy but if you are just an honor unit for Navy, you can only apply for the nomination for the Naval Academy. Hope that makes sense
