Do i have to be taking a jrotc course that year to be eligible for the nomination or as long as i am still part of that unit?

    my scenario is this:
i have completed af jrotc 2 but do not want to take jrotc 3 (since it is honors not ib/ap and will drop my gpa). However, i do plan on staying on staff and be active as a reserve officer.

Could i still be eligible for a jrotc unit nomination?

No. But it will look good and show commitment to something.

My son had the same issue. He needed the space in his schedule for AP Chem. He also wanted more time for sports. He felt that it was a smarter move for him. I guess it was ok, he is now a 2/C mid. He ended up with AP courses, sports, and a military bearing.

No, he could not request JROTC nomination as he was no longer in the unit. He applied to all MOC and VP.
