First time posting, forgive me if this has already been asked. My DS is attending the USCGA and this week received a summons for jury duty in April. He's looking into this tomorrow, but I would assume he will be able to be excused from this, correct? We live about 1200 miles from CT!

I agree. Full time students are nearly always excused. I am sure the court has an appeal process.

When mine received one at our home when mine was a 4/c, the jury duty notice came with instructions on what to do if you were active duty military. They needed several forms, attestations, etc. Rather than jump down that rabbit hole, I just called the court clerk's office (number was on the summons) and explained our situation. They excused my 4/c right then and there without any of the requested documentation. It also allowed them to make a note in their database as to my 4/cs status, eliminating any additional jury duty summonses. My suggestion: before you get too deep into gathering all of the requested forms, give the court clerk's office a call. You might get lucky.

Great first action - find the nice clerk.

If paperwork is needed, then whatever the "Cadet Personnel" or "Cadet Admin" office is called, can produce the required confirmation of military active duty status and where assigned, on letterhead. Not a new thing to military folks.
