As of now im on the wait list of 100 or so kids for USNA class of 2015; I got the VP nomination letter today. Now do i just wait? does anyone know how many slots they have left??? thanks

It has been my understanding and casual observation that activation of the VP's nom is the precursor of further action by the academy that initiates the activation. I hope this holds true for you - best wishes.

Just got VP nom

That is great news, just awesome.

Good luck, God Bless and God Speed,

I've nothing to add but ditto and excitement to all. I'd be very encouraged were I you, and will hope for a very happy "ending" ... or rather beginning for you. PLEASE keep us informed. You've some folks you know not, hoping and praying for the very best outcome for you.

Unlike a Presidential nomination, (or non-principal Congressional nom as well), a Vice Presidential "nomination" is a de facto appointment.

The academies makes their selection(s) and forward their choice(s) to the VP.

The VP's office has nothing to do with the candidate selection criteria, it is done by each DOD academy, entirely on their own.

The VP will then "nominate" whoever the academy has chosen, thus legalizing their appointment.

It's a slam dunk.

Do you mean to say this probably means an appointment?!
