WOW, my DS just sent me a text he now has conformation that both Senators and the Congressman have all his material. This has taken a great deal of time. He submitted everything in late June.

When is the close out date? If it is Sept 30th, than this is typical because noms are not rolling. They typically will gather and hold onto the files until they are near their close out date.

One main reason why is that the coordinator at the MOCs office is just that...the coordinator. They do not sit on the board for selection process. Doing a mass mailing to all candidates a week prior insures that paperwork would not be lost in the system if they did every applicant in a piece meal approach.

Frustrating? Yes, but sometimes there is a rhyme to their reason. For them, it is contacting the applicants prior to acknowledge that they are in receipt of all materials, or just partials.

Close Out Date

Hi Pima...

The Close out Dates are all around Oct. 16th. On another note DS just got two of his firm interview dates today. :thumb:

He has been at this so hard we suggested a little weekend off the just digress and be lazy. The kid has been non stop since school let out in June. NASS, Sports Camp, job, non-stop soccer, Application work, DoDMERB, Senator and Congressman apps.

At this point he just needs to digress for the weekend and be a kid. Once we got back from the Academy day we suggested that he take a nap, that was 12 he got up at 4:30. He is now at a friends house with other friends just sitting at a camp fire.

Wow, we never received anything like that w/ SA kid #1. #2 sent file down yesterday and one senator's rep checked it for completeness and the other one said, "thanks." Nice to have this monkey off the kid's back...now, on to the SA apps...

DS now has all of his recommendations and transcripts in hand, so on Sunday will be filling out (by hand!) the 2 MOC nom apps that cannot be e-mailed. This will complete everything for USMA, with the exception of the 7th semester transcript. So glad to be able to see the end.....and begin the long waiting process!
