I had my interview over the summer with an LTC who seemed to like my very much, but now he has left and I have had trouble getting in touch with the Battalion's recruitment officer, as he has not been replying to my e-mails/returning calls. I'm extremely worried, as I love the school a great deal. What should I do?

If your application is complete and board ready your at the point you should be.

I wouldn't be worried that you have not heard back, though a return email would be nice, if not polite. Not all ROO's are created equal, those like Clarkson seemed to be fully involved, others are not.

Things get busy in the battalions this time of year, the fact that you have had your interview and things are moving forward is a good thing. Wait until the results from the first board are released, then make contact again. For now there is not much the ROO can do for you except wait and see the first round scholarship results.

    Best of luck to you.

I was writing to the ROO to ask about paperwork between me and the Battalion, which is separate from the Army 4-year scholarship, and which I need to know about  Oh well….

Principally, I'm concerned that they no longer want me.

Like I said, it's a busy time for ROTC right now, I wouldn't be concerned.

Just curious, what kind of paperwork would there be if your currently just an applicant for the scholarship.

I'll jump in with the "don't worry" crowd. To give you a couple examples. When my DD went through the process in the Fall of 2009, she did the PMS interview locally and had no in-state schools listed on her ROTC app. The #1 school on her list called her directly before the 1st board even met and a 2nd time later. One of the other schools (Michigan) called and gave her a hard time about her having Ohio State listed higher on her list :big grin: The other (5) schools made no contact at all and then the University of Portland (who we had never heard of) sent her an unsolicited letter and that started the ball rolling with them. It came down to Michigan and Portland with both schools calling 3-4 times each. She chose Portland. Good thing the way Michigan's football program is circling the drain

My DS went through (2) years later and had both his #1 (Boise State) and #2 (Gonzaga) schools calling him. He went and met with both cadres then went out on an FTX & spent the night with the Gonzaga unit. No other schools are his list contacted him in any way. Even though he didn't quite have my DD's total package resume, he excels as a leader and always has since he was in grade school yet he didn't get chosen for a National scholarship. Those school visits and keeping the lines of communication open obviously helped because Boise State contacted him and offered him a 4 year direct scholarship.

Bottom line...some units go after people and some just sit back and see how things pan out.

I'm sure it's not you! We have good knowledge that you have proactively contacted those who have listed UA as a school on their ROTC Scholarship applications. :thumb:

I usually try to avoid the terms but DD is Dearest/Darling Daughter while DS would be Dearest/Darling Son....
