congrats suzie to your daughter and you and hanging in there, we have been sending positive thoughts your way from up north...our 3C is waiting to head to the eagle for phase 2 with his shipmates and it has been a stressful year to say the least but worth it...the opportunities are there to be grasped...best of luck (to her and all the soon to be swabs) have her start running and getting used to the heat now...see you at mystic perhaps..

CONGRATULATIONS!! what awesome news to hear; saving the best for last, of course!

Thank you all for the congrats! The past two days have been a blur.

We are very busy tying up loose ends...lol... we're kinda close!

The local chapter has invited my daughter to the Swab send off in St. Pete this Sunday, so hopefully she can meet some classmates!

As a parent, it's astounding to me that on her facebook her friends cannot believe that she is giving up going to the #1 party school in the nation (Univ. of Florida) for the Coast Guard.

We are so proud of her decisions and are looking forward to being part of the CGA family!

Suzie,
Just wait until the fall....all the parents of the kids at the party schools (and really, all civ. schools) will be wondering where there kids are on Fri-Sat nights, and moreso WHAT they are doing! You will know exactly what your DD is doing and where she will be! Talk about peace of mind. Now, that is not to say that the entire four years will be that way...hardly, actually. But, the initial transition for us parent types is less stressful in that particular regard!
