I'm curious about how the whole laundry/dry cleaning thing works for mids. Are they given scheduled times to wash a load? Is there a laundry service for items that need to be pressed or dry cleaned? In another thread one mentioned washing t-shirts, etc in the sink.

At least as I saw it, the laundry system is one of the biggest upside bennies which is necessitated by the incredibly busy lifestyle/routine you are about to embark on. (ie, a "great Navy deal.") In short, you won't be worrying about "scheduled times to wash a load." I'll let current Mids and more recent grads chime in on the present setup...

Brigade laundry goes out weekly. You bag up your stuff and drop it off in carts on deck, it goes away to get cleaned and brought back a few days later. The quality of this system is debatable. This includes dry cleaning as well.

For those of us who don't always trust our clothes with the Brigade system or waiting a week to get stuff back (yours truly), there's also pay laundry centers in Bancroft Hall mids can use, also of debatable quality.
