LDAC 2012

My son told me he heard that those who do not pass the on campus PT test near the end of the school year at some colleges are not allowed to go to LDAC. Just wondering if anyone else heard that?

Yup, we had to pass one within 14 days of leaving.

I can't imagine any Battalion letting someone go to camp that can't pass the PT test. It's been a couple years since we had someone that was close, but in the past if we have someone we suspect is a potential failure, we will test them close to the end of school and if they fail we won't send them.

I thought the same. Last year year we sent a guy that failed twice and had to get two waivers from the regimantal commander in order to stay at LDAC. He ended up with an overall "n". He commissioned Air Defense Artillery in the National Guard. So yes some people do make it through.

Done with LDAC!

Well, my son finally got his cell phone back and called us from LDAC. First regiment is graduating Monday. He did very well but is exhausted and ready to move on to CTLT in Germany. He said there was a whole lot of "suck" as he called it, but he also made some great friends that he hopes to have a chance to serve with again after commissioning. His dad and I are so proud of him and all the cadets that choose this very difficult yet rewarding path. He intends to thoroughly enjoy his senior year of college now that this big obstacle toward commissioning is finally complete! :thumb:

Knew he would do well. Congratulations!

Congrats to your son. CTLT in Germany should be a great experience. Best wishes to him in Branching later this year.
