LDAC 2014

DS did LTC last summer. Family day consisted of a display/recruiting expo set up and guided tour of Fort Knox Base. You got to see your cadets marching around and practicing, then a little after noon they could leave with you and leave base then be back by 9 I believe.

It was slightly interesting just because we are not a military family and we used it as a short vacation (live 12 hours away) so we could drive in a day.

I agree, unless you're taking your cadet with you after LDAC, not sure I would make the trip unless you just want to enjoy the trip itself.

I have to agree with Bull on this.

We went to our older son's LDAC graduation because we live about an hour from Ft. Lewis. Now that LDAC is at Ft. Knox we will not be going for our younger son's this summer. The trip to Hawaii, son included, to visit his brother sounds like a lot more fun.

I had to laugh at Bull's comment, when we went to watch our older son's it was nice but nothing special. When it was done and we found him his first words were "Hi, can we leave now" he had one day before he flew out for CTLT. Don't expect your cadet to be eager to give you a tour or spend any time on base if you do go, they seem to want to get out of there as quickly as possible.
