For those other Enlisted members applying for USAFA through the LEAD program what have your results been thus far and If you don't mind sharing what were your ACT/SAT scores.

I applied this year and got denied direct entry and am waiting to hear back regarding the prep school. My ACT scores were 22 English 25 Math 24 Reading 24 Science.

I received my TWE for Direct Entry, but the letter unlike some, mentioned nothing of being denied for Prep school, so I'm looking forward to that.
I also went on the LEAD DVP tdy in September, top 25 of 88 or so who had applied that far by Mid Sept. My ACT was 21 English, 27 Math, 28 Reading, and 27 Science. Still waiting, last years class looked to have been notified by Mid April, which is this next week and past. Hopefully some good news then.

I could be wrong but I think that is the same for all Lead applicants across the board as the LEAD form does say if you are denied direct entry you are automatically considered for the prep school. Great scores by the way, get that english up and you could of probably had a direct entry slot! Anyways best of luck I've talked to 2 females that have been accepted for this years prep school already and one of them told me they got a 25 ACT score.

Not all, I know of a few who also did not receive the same letter as me and are not being looked at for the Prep School. And I know of three total who are Prep school recipients but only one was a female, so now I know of 4 people who got Prep already, hoping to hear something back this week -.-

let me know if you hear back I'll be sure to post if I get accepted!

I definitely will, I'll be on leave starting Thursday so if I do hear anything it will be through my portal or a call from my office. Hoping they start going out this week and next :yllol:

So today at work, one of the staff sergeants asked me if I was going to be here in the afternoon, I said "I should be, why?". He was "just wondering". Next thing I know is Senior leadership is coming over to ask about some SCCM stuff (Comm mumbo jumbo). Well my commander and all the leadership from my squadron come and they start talking about SCCM, well, my commander says "Well, we used SCCM to deviate from our true reason to be here, and I would like to ask A1C Bourdeau to come up." I didn't know what to think, but he showed me his work Blackberry, "A1C Bourdeau has been accepted to the Air Force Academy Preparatory Class of 2014". Ahhhh yis.
Looks like I'll be joining USAFAPs :yllol::biggrin::shake:
And he said my portal should be updated next Monday, I'll be on leave but I'll definitely have my family peering over my shoulder as I press that accept button.

Same, my portal is openeing up with the acceptance letter monday. Over at Wright-Patterson. Now my SAT scores, total, was around 1550 I think (not the greatest). I will say however you should stick out as much as you can, my way was awards. Get a couple of annual awards and BTZ and you'll be like candy to them ;)

a few questions to everyone enlisted going to the prep school.
They say to bring our uniforms yet another form says we don't have to, saying that we will have to pay for new uniform items as they may be slightly different and they'd like us to match? Has anyone gotten this clarified?

Regarding the security clearance form do we have to fill it out even if we already have a security clearance? I'm only secret but I doubt we'd need anything higher.

Also Just a tip to everyone attending the prep school, you may want to look into grants to cover book fee's, I might be a cheapo but an extra $1000+ in my pocket wouldn't be bad for a few hours work applying for grants.

Ya I was asking the same questions to my ALO and haven't heard anything. I think everyone gets at least a Secret clearance. Now this is just my assessment, and take it how you will, but I was told a TS (Top Secret) Clearance is roughly $200K, and I know personally its good for five years. So I agree, why the hell do we need to have a 86 done.

Once y'all find out the 86 info out let us know on here, because my job has me with a TS. And I have foreign relatives so its difficult to get the information again. And the uniform thing I'm also curious about, why not just allow priors to get reissued everything. And the blues shirts are ruined as soon as you take the stripes off..

I asked my ALO today he is checking on it tonight. He did say however we (I) should probably bring them, uniforms that is. Ya true the blues do look faded around the stripe marks, but who knows. I have a TS as well and he said I didn't need to bring it, really didn't wana fill that thing out again! When I find out, so will you all :)

Don't worry about the 86.

I was given an estimate that TS runs around $50,000.

any updates on whether or not we have to do the clothing measurements form or immunizations form I figure a print out of my air force immunizations will do?

I did not fill out the measurements form, mostly because I was going to the Prep School and would be able to wear the enlisted blues. If you are direct entry, I'd definitely fill it out.

I brought my AF immunization form and they accepted it no questions asked.
