I have a friend (AD) who manages 6 of the 13 programs that the AF recruits for and she told me that USAFA did not meet their recruiting goal for the first time this year. She said that General Ayyar and General Rice have been in talks to figure out what to do. As far fetched as that sounds it kinda made sense to me when USAFA admissions (march 14th on FB) said that they had only "roughly 35%" of their slots filled. Either things have gotten that bad in the civilian world or USAFA is simply just making people wait too long. (Most people are getting offers from other universities and have to make a decision.)

Regardless if its true are not the good news is that there are still slots available so if you havent been denied by now thats probly a good thing. If it IS true then I still see it as a good thing for us bc USAFA will likely make some more "exceptions" to get those slots filled...

Oh tech school, how much I absolutely don't miss you. At least I was lucky and mine was only 2.5 months.

I have a feeling that the Academy is pretty much tech school on steroids though. Should be fun.

You're so lucky. I had a solid 8 months of tech school. Ain't no place like Biloxi.

I hear that our commanders are the first to find out... Is this so?

I hope it wasn't that one girl who fell in love with USAFA as soon as we stepped off the plane. But I really don't have any idea...still relaying the info that the LT gave me a few days ago.

Were you in the van with that one dude that kept asking questions he knew the answer to, when Capt. G was driving? Wasn't LEAD established in the mid 90's? Isn't there 17 points to the chapel because etc, etc, etc? What are my chances? Holy cow, I was disliking people from the first 5 minutes.

We did stop by Chik-Fil-A so that made things ease up a bit.
 
After not talking to my DS for a couple days, we were talking yesterday, and I asked if he has heard anything from the Academy.

He said, in all seriousness, "Oh yea, I got in and forgot to tell you."

Even though I knew he was joking, because I will be his first call, my heart still stopped for a moment.

I'm going to kill that kid! :wink:

got a strange call from my ALO today... he said i was DQed for being arrested.... I've never been arrested. He told me to call my counselor and call him back with what i found out. Call Colorado about 5 times.... nobody picked up. Do you guys think he would reallllly wait till T-2 days to tell me about this?

We do pranks like these all the time AD....thoughts?

dang i misspelled something. may still be cadet material yet.
