I was not sure what to label this one as we have two very different questions to ask.

    1) My daughter (sister of new cadet) is planning her wedding for next spring (May/June 2011). My son who will be finishing his plebe year has been asked to be in the wedding. Is there anyway to know which days he will be home next May and June?

    2) Second question, much different than the first, is how does USMA handle leave for the funeral of a family member? Unfortunately, we anticipate needing to know the answer to this question.

Could you pass whatever you sent to her on to me please? I am really curious with regards to the #2 option.

    1) I would schedule it May 30 to early June. The Summer schedule is pretty flexible during this time and your son will be able to set a preference for when he wants off in the Summer. In addition, after assignments are given, cadets have the option of trading with other cadets or asking for a switch. If he explains the situation then it will be rather easy.

Just don't schedule the wedding for late June and early July because CFT is mandatory and it will be more difficult (if not impossible) to get him to come then.

    2) There are emergency passes available for situations like this. If a family member dies your son can use one of these.
