Alright so I'm already an enlisted soldier currently serving in Afghanistan, and I'm applying to West Point. I was wondering does a DUI on your record make it impossible to be accepted? I never recieved a guilty conviction so it doesnt show up on my record just that I was arrested.

You are innocent until proven guilty aren't you? You should be fine - you have a security clearance so you won't have to fill out the SF-86, so all USMA will ask for is a local police background check, which if its not on record, you should be fine.

So you were arrested and the charges were dropped? Or you were arrested and eventually charged with something else?

Which RC are you in currently?

Yah they gave me a continuance without a finding, so it's no conviction on anything it's just an open case for a year then it closed but there's no guilty conviction or innocent finding, and I'm in the Kandahar province currently.

Ensure you inform West Point about it regardless if you were convicted or not. If you believe you were innocent, let them know that as well. Your CoC will be communicating with the Soldier Admissions Officer at West Point so don't hide anything as your CoC will not be hiding anything.

I recommend sending an email to the Soldier Admissions Officer informing him and asking for his advice. Your combat and enlisted service are important attributes that can make your class better.
