Letter of Appointment

Appointment

On Friday, I received a letter of appointment to the Naval Academy! I had a Presidential nomination and was waiting for a Congressional nomination interview. I'm very grateful to have been selected.

Don't give up the ship!

Congrats to all the early appointees!! And, may I say as the mom of a Plebe...hang in there 2014! The Youngster light is now at the end of the tunnel! :thumb:

Embrace and treasure that moment of seeing, opening that thick envelope. For you and all who care for you, one of the truly great, joyful moments in all of life. Congrats, way to go, take this time to overtly, genuinely thank all those who've loved, cared for, and nurtured you to enable this grand event. Great prep for your coming 4 years of learning nothing great happens absent your 'mates and God's generous grace and love for you.

I received a verbal offer on November 12th, 2010 and received the actual one in the mail November 22nd, 2010.

CONGRATULATIONS to the early appointees. This gave my Plebe a bit of motivation..... he will, one day, be a Plebe no more:wink:!!

AMEN TO THAT YET AGAIN! Yes There is light at the end of the tunnel, and its not a train!

Congratulations. Truly a great day for you. However, 47 years ago, this day didn't pan out very well for President Kennedy.

Did you know, the August before he was assassinated, President Kennedy made a special trip to the U.S. Naval Academy and spoke only to the Plebes who were currently going through Plebe Summer?

The whole speech was great! I agree; he did have a great sense of humor; I enjoyed his story. Thank you so much for sharing!

Congrats to the class of 2015 appointees ---parents you are in for the ride of your lives-ups /downs /tears and triumphs---hold on and yes ------enjoy!!!! Thanksgiving when they possibly come home for the first time---it will be so so wonderful----bubble wrap, hugs ,stamps and Kleenex----every plebe parent musts! I suggest buying in bulk!

Oh and the big blue folder left in his room on his desk----when DS walked back into his room for the first time in 149 days ---a slight touch and a big smile---priceless!

Blackhawkmom, it is sure great to hear about DS's T-giving visit. What a crazy, unpredictable, all-over-the-map experience you and especially he have had in just these first five months of Navy life! Just wait until the boy comes home for Xmas leave all full of Navy-Army stories...

Great to hear you've both made it out the other side.

Peace out,

LAP
