So I had my TRiO counselor (who is hundreds of miles away from me) send West Point a letter of recommendation on my behalf. He also faxed me a copy of the letter after he sent it. Upon reading it, I noticed that one sentence said "Air Force Academy" instead of Military Academy. Apparently, he had taken the letter he wrote me for USAFA and just changed "Air Force" to "Military/Army." He missed one, though. Of course, it was too late to do anything about it after I realized it. This makes me look so ignorant because I didn't proofread it enough before it sent, and I'm worried that this is going to come back to bite me when the admissions board reads it (I hear it's insulting to colleges when other colleges are mentioned in essays/letters).
Is there a way I can get admissions to disregard the first letter and then I can upload a revised copy of it later? And how much will this affect me? I realize this is entirely my fault, and I accept full responsibility for this, so please don't scold me. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
